The game now features an advanced environment rendering engine, more realistic forests and fields, more dense cities, and realistic trackside objects that make every region of Spain and Portugal, from their coast to highest mountain roads look distinct and appealing.
They did so not only for the regions found in Iberia but also in the rest of Europe. Originally announced for late 2020, this ambitious expansion finally reached gamers in April of 2021, partly in due because developers wanted to boost visuals to a whole new level.
Of course, many coastal towns, shipping hubs, large production plants, and inland cities are also represented, allowing both seasoned and new players of Euro Truck Simulator 2 to expand their network of cargo orders and transport goods from Portugal all the way to the other regions of Europe. These two countries are transported into the in-game environment with a staggering amount of detail, with many of its major road networks, scenic environments such as desolate Tabernas desert, famous roadside vistas such as historic castles, and even access to several large cities such as Spain’s capital Madrid and Portugal’s Lisbon.
